Karl Wiener, an Austrian draftsman, graphic artist, and photo montage artist, gained posthumous recognition for his politically and time-critical montages from the 1930s and 1940s. He was referred to as the Austrian John Heartfield during a major retrospective of his estate at the Wien Museum.
